Can a supply chain regenerate ecosystems and strengthen communities?
We believe it can.
Today we are celebrating an important milestone: the partnership between Aboca and Instituto Sinal do Vale has achieved UEBT Verified Responsibly Sourced status for the production of stevia and acerola in Brazil. The verification concluded that 98% of the applicable critical indicators met the required standard, confirming the robustness of the project while establishing a roadmap for continuous improvement.
For us, however, the greatest achievement is not the certification itself.
It is the model that the certification recognizes.
This project connects one of the world's leading companies in natural medicinal products with family farmers from the Terra Prometida agrarian reform settlement, in the Recôncavo da Guanabara, Brazil. Together, we are building a regenerative supply chain based on biodiversity conservation, ethical sourcing, scientific knowledge and long-term partnerships.
The UEBT assessment examined biodiversity conservation, agricultural practices, traceability, governance, working conditions, occupational health and safety, environmental management and continuous improvement. Receiving this verification provides international credibility to a model that seeks not only to produce high-quality botanical ingredients, but also to regenerate landscapes and livelihoods.
This initiative is also significant because it is the first project developed within RITA – Regional Impact Trade Alliance, connecting two regions that share the same regenerative vision: Umbria, home of Aboca, and the Recôncavo da Guanabara, where Sinal do Vale is helping build a new bioeconomy rooted in ecosystem restoration.
We often say that the future of bioeconomy depends on Bioregional Regenerative Supply Chains.
This project shows what that means in practice: companies, farmers, science and biodiversity working together to generate health, income, restored ecosystems and resilient territories.
The UEBT verification is not the end of the journey.
It is an important validation that encourages us to continue building a model capable of inspiring many other regenerative partnerships around the world.
